Eat Your Skincare!

Did you know eating just a handful of dates a day can brighten skin due to their high vitamin and mineral content? This is literally eating your skincare.

Since food is skincare too I'd like to share some facts about this superfood and I'd like to influence the way you look at food.

Dates contain a high concentration of Vitamins A, C, and E, which are crucial for the maintenance of healthy skin. Regular consumption of dates can contribute to the improvement of skin radiance and provide a healthy glow. Were you aware of this fact?

Furthermore, dates are abundant in antioxidants that effectively combat the detrimental impact of free radicals, thereby delaying the onset of wrinkles and fine lines. Additionally, the presence of folic acid in dates aids in stimulating cell regeneration, resulting in a more youthful appearance of the skin.

Containing a remarkable amount of magnesium of 13% magnesium helps support the synthesis of collagen and we lack collagen as we age which is one of the key factors in wrinkles.

It also has 40% copper! Eating a healthy input may help skin aging but without sufficient copper, the body cannot replace damaged connective tissue or the collagen that makes up the scaffolding for bone.

Manganese at 13% is needed for producing the amino acid proline, which is essential for collagen formation and wound healing in human skin cells.

Dates have a whopping 15% of Vitamin B6 that aids in collagen, a protein that maintains the skin's elasticity and youthfulness. It also reduces inflammation which can be attributed to eczema and dry irritated itchy skin. B6 can help alleviate these irritations. I love snacking on these and have some everyday because I look at these like a powerhouse snack. They are rich in fiber and help my sweet tooth cravings and fill me up. Throw some in your oatmeal or make a protein smoothie.

In summary......

if I could get you to look at food as part of your skincare routine when you eat not only will you improve your overall health & weight but your inner glow will show through as your outer glow.
