Collagen is what keeps the face full and youthful looking but did you know we stop making it at the age of 25? In this blog I am sharing methods you can do to stimulate your collagen at any age.
As we grow older, the connective tissue starts to loosen and the elasticity reduces, causing the face to droop. There's nor miracle pill or cream that will reverse the signs of aging but there are methods and products to help stimulate collagen production that can slow down the process as you age.
Eating a healthy diet is the first step in the process of grateful aging. Not only do we feel better but we see the "better" in our skin, hair and nails. Instead on convenience eating, eat with a purpose using intentional foods. This means you are making a decision to eat your selfcare and nurturing where you are today and what you've got! Meals with more vegetables, fruits and white meats and fish will benefit you overall and feed your skin with many nutrients not synthetically made. Snacking with healthier choices aid in the impact of our food choices. See my blog: https://www.faceitskin.net/post/skin-food-snacking
for making better choices. Eating with intention supports our immune system, cardiovascular system, and lymphatic system which is connected to our skin. What is also connected to your skin is your digestive system. Get what I'm saying?
Exercise...
is crucial to get the blood pumping to give our skin color and firmness. When our skin has more circulation it is more tight and colorful, like when we were younger. Exercise increases blood flow to your skin, which delivers oxygen and nutrients to your skin cells. This can help your skin look more radiant and glowing. Sweating opens up your pores, which helps flush out dirt, excess oil, and impurities. This can reduce acne breakouts and improve skin clarity. If I could bottle sweat I would! It is a crucial substance your skin makes that is actually very anti-aging. Your skin naturally produces "acid mantle" and sends it to the outermost layers to protect, hydrate and balance our skin. Some of us don't produce enough and so therefore sweat is great for our skin! I am one of these people and when I exercise I do not wash my face after. I actually massage in the sweat and wear it! It is magic potion just not in a bottle. Well, almost. Luxe Serum is the next best thing as it's made with just the right balance of carrier oils to benefit skins elasticity, hydration and color.
Exercise can improve the structure of your skin and rejuvenate its appearance. It can also help decrease the aging of skin cells. Partner the above two suggestions with skincare and your golden!
Ah, yes...skincare.
Using skincare that supports your lymphatic system and immune system that ignites your brain and senses is most effective for the whole body while aiding your collagen stimulation! Our skin doesn't stop at our neck and not all skincare is the same.
Neurocosmetic based skincare is superior because skin can digest the ingredients. It doesn't sit on top, because it's made with natural carrier oils and acids to penetrate skin that interact with your whole body, which is how your senses get activated. This results in a mood boost during your skincare routine that makes a person want to use their skincare!
Take our Refreshing Retinol Cream for example. It is made with retinol just below prescription strength, and with a boost of vanilla and lemon. Vanilla makes your skin color better by increasing blood circulation while lemon is used as an acid to help retinol penetrate better. Just by chance this cream smells like a cupcake or a sugar cookie and an important part of how Neurocosmetics is made. Ingredients that enhance each others abilities that your body can recognize. WOW.
Being you...
It's what you do everyday and you do it best, so do the best for you! It doesn't mean burn yourself out but take note to be kind to yourself and be mindful of taking care of your body with movement and what goes in your body, and what goes on your body. You don't have to run a marathon, go vegan or get a facelift. I love experiencing natural foods that serve my skin purpose, a few fast long walks with a couple exercise classes weekly and using my skincare. I feel better and my skin is more attractive as it shows what I'm doing to it.
I am gratefully aging which is preventative aging using selfcare methods mentioned in this blog. Does this mean I'll stop Botox? Probably not because I love my Botox sprinkles that still give me movement and I get to keep the face I was born with. I'm not a filler fan as I tried it one day years ago. It wasn't for me because my face should have character that shows joy and experiences of a lived life. I'm not opposed to trying it again but if I do it will be the most natural one I can find that focuses on stimulation of collagen. Just knowing there are safe, natural methods for us to look our best, no matter what our age, gives everyone beautiful choices at any age.
